What is the minimum age requirement to check-in at the Royal Sands?
The Royal Sands requires the guest whose name is on the reservation to be at least 25 years of age.
Is the rental all-inclusive?
The rental is not all-inclusive. With the rental, you'll have full access to the resort's services and amenities, but this does not include food or other benefits all-inclusive offers. Guests may purchase an all-inclusive option for about $100 per person per day. Guests may purchase the all-inclusive option at the resort's front desk at the time of check-in. There are restaurants on the property as well as several others at the other Royal Resorts in Cancun that you can get to by the free resort shuttle.
Are there any additional fees or taxes?
There are no additional taxes or fees. The rates shown are the total, all-in cost for the listed dates.
Why are my exact dates not showing as available?
Typically reservations are for 7 nights starting on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. There are occasionally exceptions. The exact dates that are available should be listed under the Availability section. Often times, booking a week long stay through VacationCandy is cheaper than booking 3 or 4 nights directly through the resort. It is no problem to arrive after your check-in date. Just call the resort directly, and let them know when they can expect you.
Is it possible to stay for more than a week?
Absolutely. You can book two weeks back to back, or you can book additional nights directly through the resort. Once your name has been placed on the reservations, you may call the resort's front desk to request that the resort pair up the reservations to keep you in the same room for the duration of the stay. The resort does their best to accommodate all requests, but they cannot guarantee them. To stay in the same room for the duration of the stay, we suggest booking the same room and view type.
Are all the services and amenities listed on Royal Sand's website available if we book through VacationCandy?
Guests will have full access to the resort’s amenities and services. Daily housekeeping is available, however, there is an additional charge. Housekeeping arrangements can be made directly with the front desk before or during your stay.

How long does it take to get from the airport to the resort?
Cancun Airport is approximately 12 miles from the resort. The drive should take about 20-25 minutes.
Is there a shuttle from the resort to the airport?
There is a Cancun Shuttle that is $25 round trip or $12.80 one way per person. That shuttle is provided for flights landing in Cancun between 7 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. Before or after must be a private service. The private service to the Royal Sands is $61 per vehicle one way (1-7 passengers) or $73 per vehicle one way (8-10 passengers). The round trip cost is $105 per vehicle (1-7 passengers) and $134 per vehicle (8-10 passengers). Reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
Do I need a car?
It depends on your vacation plans. Taxis are readily available if desired, and the resort does have an inter-resort shuttle that runs between the Royal Resorts in Cancun throughout the day for a small fee. However, a car would be best if you are looking to explore beyond the resort.
What does it cost to park at the resort?
Parking is complimentary for 1 vehicle. Additional charges may apply for multiple vehicles.
How close is the beach?
The Royal Sands Resort is beachfront.

Where is the unit located?
All of the units at The Royal Sands are assigned at check-in. You will not know exactly where the unit is located until you check-in. Once your name is added to the reservation, you can call the resort directly to put in any requests that you have.
Do all the units have the same décor?
All of the units are managed and maintained by The Royal Sands. All of the units at The Royal Sands have the same décor and should all be in similar condition. If you have any issues with your villa at any point during your stay, you’ll be able to contact the front desk.
Do the units have a kitchen?
The studio is the only unit that doesn’t have a full kitchen, but it has a kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, silverware, and dishes. For the rest of the units, the kitchen includes a stove-top, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, silverware, pots and pans, dishes, and glasses.
Do the units have a washer and dryer?
No, the units do not have a washer and dryer. However, the resort does have laundry service on-site. It costs approximately $3.00 per machine and soap is included.
Is there housekeeping?
Unfortunately, housekeeping is not included with the rental. Cleanings can be arranged with the resort's front desk, but a fee will be charged.
Is Internet complimentary?
Wireless Internet is complimentary.
What is a sofa bed?
Sofa beds are queen-size pull-out beds that sleep up to two people.

Can I use US currency in Mexico?
Due to recent regulations, US Dollars (and other currencies) in cash can only be used in resort areas. However, it's easier (and less expensive) to use Mexican pesos. The resort front desk can exchange Dollars for Mexican pesos; must have passport identification to do so. Pesos can also be obtained at ATMs. Currency conversion is limited to US$1,500 per person per month. US debit and credit cards are still accepted, though.
